Cheongsam Rental Agreement

Thank you for choosing to rent a handmade cheongsam by Ray.
Each piece is thoughtfully crafted and curated to offer a refined and meaningful experience.

Please review the following terms carefully before confirming your booking.

1. Collections, Rental Fee & Period

  • We offer two collections:

    • Basic Collection — $150

      (tax included)

    • Glamour Collection (Dress #01, #03 & #13) — $400

      (tax included)

    The rental period is 48 hours.

    Example: If your dress is delivered at 9:00 AM on Jan 1, it must be returned by 9:00 AM on Jan 3.

    Each rental includes:

    • Cheongsam

    • Hanger

    • Garment cover

    All items must be returned together.

2. Payment & Security Deposit

  • A non-refundable booking deposit of 20% of the rental fee is required to secure your dress.

  • The remaining balance and security deposit are due upon delivery:

    Basic Collection

    • Remaining balance: $120

    • Security deposit: $150

    Glamour Collection

    • Remaining balance: $320

    • Security deposit: $400

    The security deposit will be fully refunded once the dress is returned in good condition with all items included.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 48 hours before delivery:
    → Rental fees paid (excluding booking deposit) are refundable

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before delivery:
    → Non-refundable

4. Dress Care

  • Please do not wash or clean the dress yourself.
    All cleaning will be handled by us.

    Each cheongsam is handmade — we kindly ask that it be worn with care.

    Makeup, Deodorant & Fragrance
    We understand these are part of your preparation. Please take care when wearing the dress, as:

    • Makeup, oils, deodorant, and perfume may stain fabric

    • Strong scents may be difficult to remove

    Upon return, the garment will be assessed:

    • If stains/scent are removable → additional cleaning fees may apply

    • If permanent → replacement charges apply (see Section 6)

5. Fit & Alterations

You will meet Ray for a fitting session where adjustments may be assessed.

  • You are not obligated to rent after fitting

  • A 20% booking deposit is required to proceed with adjustments and secure the dress

All alterations are handled exclusively by Ray.

No self-alterations are permitted, including:

  • Temporary hemming

  • Tape

  • Pinning beyond fitting

Any unauthorized alterations or resulting damage will incur repair fees.

6. Damage, Stains, and Loss

Please notify us immediately if any damage occurs.
Do not attempt to repair the garment yourself.

  • Minor wear (e.g. loose stitching) → no charge

  • Additional cleaning (if required) → charged accordingly

Replacement Charges

In the event of:

  • Permanent stains (non-removable through professional cleaning)

  • Significant damage affecting the garment’s condition

  • Loss or non-return

The following replacement fees will apply:

  • Basic Collection — $600

  • Glamour Collection — $1,400

These amounts reflect the value required to restore or replace each piece.

Any applicable charges may be deducted from the security deposit, with any remaining balance payable by the renter.

7. Late Returns

Late returns will incur the following fees:

  • Basic Collection — $75 per day

  • Glamour Collection — $200 per day

    (Any part of a day counts as a full day.)

    Late returns may affect other clients’ bookings — timely return is greatly appreciated.

8. Agreement

By renting the cheongsam, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms stated above.
