Cheongsam Rental Agreement

Thank you for choosing to rent a handmade cheongsam from Ray.
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before confirming your booking.

1. Rental Period and Fee

  • Rental fee is $150 (tax included) for a 48-hour period.
    (For example: If your dress is delivered at 9:00 AM on Jan 1, it must be returned no later than 9:00 AM on Jan 3)

  • The rental includes the cheongsam, hanger, and garment cover. Please return all items together.

2. Payment and Deposit

  • $20 non-refundable booking deposit (e-transfer) is required to secure the dress and will be applied towards the rental fee upon successful booking.

  • Upon delivery, a total of $280 in cash is payable, broken down as follows:

    • $130 - remaining rental balance

    • $150 - refundable security deposit

  • The $150 security deposit will be returned once the dress is received back in good condition and all items are returned.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the Delivery Date are eligible for a full refund of any rental fees paid (excluding the $20 booking deposit)

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before delivery are non-refundable.

4. Dress Care

  • Please do not wash or clean the dress yourself. All cleaning will be handled by us.

  • Each cheongsam is handmade, and we kindly ask that it be worn and handled with care.

  • Makeup, Deodorant & Fragrance
    We understand you are likely to wear makeup, deodorant or fragrance. We kindly ask that you would take care when wearing the cheongsam. Makeup, body oils, deodorant, perfume, or fragrance may cause stains and strong scents on the garment. Upon return of the dress, we will examine it to identify if the stains and/or scents (if any) are difficult to remove or permanent. In the case of the former, additional cleaning fees apply. In the case of the latter, replacement charge applies as outlined below.

5. Fit & Alterations

You’ll meet Ray for a fitting session so that Ray can assess if any adjustments on the dress are necessary. In this process, Ray will pin the dress and take your measurements as required. You are not obliged to rent the dress, but should you decide so a $20 deposit is required.  Upon receipt of the deposit, Ray will make the adjustments on the dress and deliver it to you on the agreed date.


No further alterations are permitted on the items, including the use of temporary hem tape or any self-adjustments. All adjustments must be carried out by Ray. The renter will be liable for any fees required to repair unauthorized alterations or damage caused by such alterations.

6. Damage, Stains, and Loss

Please notify us immediately if any damage occurs. Do not attempt to repair the dress yourself.

  • Minor wear or repairs (e.g. loose buttons, small stitching issues) will be handled by us at no additional charge.

  • Permanent stains (those that cannot be removed through professional dry cleaning) will result in a $600 replacement charge.

  • Significant damage that prevents the dress from being restored to a rentable condition will result in a $600 replacement charge.

  • In the event the dress is lost or not returned, a $600 replacement charge will apply.

Replacement charges may be deducted from the security deposit, with any remaining balance payable by the renter.

7. Late Returns

  • A late return fee of $75 per day will apply for each day (or part of a day) beyond the agreed return time. Late returns may affect subsequent bookings, so punctual return is appreciated.

8. Agreement

By renting the cheongsam, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms stated above.
